King's says the personal statement is one of many factors in the overall assessment. It is used to judge commitment to the program, fit with career plans, relevant work experience or extracurricular activity, and evidence of enthusiasm for scholastic activities such as reading and debating, plus clear reasons for studying law and, for overseas applicants, English law specifically.

Grades are a decisive screen for this program. King's publishes very high entry requirements for Law LLB, states no specific subject is required, and says resits are not accepted except where significant mitigating circumstances apply.
Bar to clear: A*AA at A-level or IB 38 overall (contextual: AAB or IB 35)
A law-specific admissions test is mandatory: all applicants must take the LNAT by 31 December or the application cannot be considered further. English proficiency also matters for applicants who must prove it; The Dickson Poon School of Law sits in King's Band B English requirements, such as IELTS 7.0 overall with 6.5 in each skill.
