Computer Science
Admission criteria
No separate portfolio is required for the Computer Science admission category, and the department states that additional computer science knowledge or experience beyond the required courses is not required or expected for applicants. Projects may only matter indirectly if an applicant discusses them in the supplemental short answers.
A required supplemental application asks four short-answer questions about personal experiences and qualities rather than technical CS topics. The university says this non-academic information is considered alongside the academic record, and the department says it is used to assess non-discipline-specific qualities such as goal-setting, contribution to groups, adapting to change, overcoming barriers, and working with people who differ from you.
Academics are a decisive factor. The Computer Science admission category requires senior-level English and Calculus, lists an approximate admission range in the low 90s, and the department says marks in the specified admission courses show applicants' academic and CS strengths. U.S. applicants are expected to have a high GPA and rigorous course load, including the highest available level in prerequisite subjects.
This program does not rely on a required program-specific entrance exam. For U.S. applicants, SAT/ACT are test-optional and may be submitted if the student wants them considered. English proficiency tests matter only for applicants who must prove English ability; accepted minimums include IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0 and TOEFL iBT 89 total with 22 in Speaking and Writing for tests taken before January 21, 2026.
