→Prioritize top grades in required math and English courses, because Waterloo publishes high academic bars and CS is individually selected from a very strong pool.

→If available to you, take Waterloo math/computing contests such as Euclid or CSMC; they are optional but can strengthen a borderline application.

→Do not spend time building an external portfolio for review, because Waterloo says links to portfolios are not reviewed.

→If you may need English proof, sit IELTS or TOEFL early enough to meet document deadlines and aim to clear the published minimums comfortably.
